Pedestal with "Into the Wind" Memorial Sculpture

My live edge work is created from salvaged, local trees. This is by far my favorite material to create with even though it is more challenging than working with milled lumber. I feel more connected to the material when I know the history of the tree it came from and I love that the live tree resonates in the finished piece. When a Madrone tree had to be taken down in my neighborhood, my heart sank but I was able to take the material and repurpose it into three pieces including the memorial pedestal.
